Hoops for Hearts
Hoops for Hearts is a 3-on-3 outdoor basketball tournament established in 2025 to raise awareness for pediatric congenital heart disease (CHD) and benefit the Seattle Children’s Hospital Cardiology Department. Last year, 33 teams raised $6,500. This year, our goal is to bring more teams to the valley and raise $10,000 for children born with heart defects.
Understanding CHD
Congenital heart defects are the most common birth defect, affecting 1 in 100 babies. CHD impacts the heart’s structure, disrupting normal blood flow. Hoops for Hearts honors two local athletes born with CHD, Jameson Shaw and Odin Schneider.
